No really special story about this one– except that this great tile is around the doorway of what, I believe, used to be a dry cleaners/laundry on Raymond street.

Can you imagine an architect trying to convince a building owner add this kind of  decoration to a dry-cleaners today?

Architect: Come on…Classic moroccan-themed tile is worth the extra money.  It’ll make the street-scape more attractive, and years from now people will walk by, stop and admire it.  Maybe even take pictures with some kind of photographic gizmo we haven’t even imagined yet.   Wouldn’t that be awesome?

Building Owner:  (long pause)  No.

Anyway,  I as I was by walking by, the morning light was at the perfect angle for creating this curtain-like shadow effect.   I thought it was attractive.  So I stopped and took a picture of it with my futuristic photographic gizmo.  Awesome.

  3. Oh, this is so lovely. There are so many beautiful little details like this around Los Angeles. I’ve never noticed this one before.
